Spector Pro Review
Spector Pro is generally acknowledged as one of the most feature-abundant
monitoring program in the industry, with user-friendly forms of
displaying the information. Screen capturing, keystroke logging,
SMTP and POP sessions, instant messaging and Web access are Spector
Pro's definitory and distinctive features, placing it in the quality
top of monitoring programs.
Referring to the stealthness of Spector Pro, we must say it passed
all the exams other similar programs have failed. Not easy to detect,
Spector Pro has a customizable magic key combination, but it can
also be set to warn the users about its existence by means of a
large size-banner, if that is your wish.
Spector Pro gets economic in storage by cutting off the color depth
when screen capturing. If you want to play or replay the screen
shots captured during another user's access to the computer, you
may choose the controls conceived to resemble the controls of a
VCR and giving you the possibility to watch the many times you like
and the way you want.
It may come as a surprise, though, Spector Pro's extra charge policy
for settings existing in less dynamic monitoring programs, such
as the very convenient option of self uninstallation. Additionally,
to be sure you get full monitoring via e-mail, customers must pay
a supplementary $69,95 for SpectorSoft's eBlaster.
Spector Pro is not very friendly either. When tested on a cookie
or add acting as a Web proxy in run, Spector Pro canceled the command
of the Web browsers. Moreover, it also cancels Trapware's snoopware
detector, Who's Watching Me?, on the misleading pretext an error
has intervened in its functioning and needs to shut down. This kind
of preventing detection doesn't seem fair play at all.
Fair play or not, Spector Pro remains in our opinion the system
which best combines its feature set with customers' needs.

"I bought Spector Pro hoping I could shake off my doubts concerning
an employee of mine who was acting strangely lately. I am the manager
of a CAD department and I had the unpleasant surprise to testify
the inability of Spector Pro of functioning in a CAD station. I
tested the monitoring system on three of our computers and in all
three cases AutoCad 2002 kept displaying GEDIT errors in only few
minutes after installing Spector Pro 5.0. We even had a worse surprise
when people from Spectorsoft emailed us about supplementary costs
for the other two installations. Sad but true, we lost more money
with Spector Pro than with our strangely acting employee."
"I am thrilled about Spector Pro! All I was told before buying
it about its great features proved to be true and I am very happy
about it! Not to mention that people at software4parents.com gave
me helpful advice before and after I bought it. Spector Pro gets
all my recommendations!"
"So much better than WinWhatWhere!!! I am a constant user
of Spector Pro for more than a year now and everything works as
it should. It was never detected so far and I can't see chances
growing. And the interface makes it all worthy!"
